Wukong is the one champion who doesn’t have any traits, and is meant to be an extremely flexible front line champ for a variety of comps. The problem is, his old passive limited his itemization options pretty heavily, restricting when you could play him.

So in Patch 14.18 we’re adjusting the passive. Now, his passive simply gives him 40 bonus Armor & MR that deteriorates a bit each second.

Our goal was that if you see a Wukong early, you should be thrilled since he’ll be quite strong compared to other champs that require traits to reach their maximum. A Wukong with something as simple as a Warmogs on Stage 2 will be tough to take down, and allow you to stay open to other lines.

However this is purposefully a nerf to his cap. A Wukong3 with 2x Gargoyles was far tankier than he should be, and really only held back by the large amounts of true damage. Wukong3 is still an option of course, but it won’t be quite as over the line as it was previously.

Hopefully this shape makes Wukong more fun to play more often, which is what we want for this unique threat like champ!
