Some ice with your Varus? Today @Eybeam@twitter.com talks about the comp A Song of Ice & Fire ❄️🔥

At the beginning of the game you often play around Hunters as Varus item carriers with a Vanguard/Frost frontline.

On Level 5 find a unit to activate Frost. It’s better with Swain but Zilean will also work.

On level 6 you can simultaneously activate Shapeshifter for Swain to strengthen the frontline while getting Antiheal from Nomsy.

Put DPS items on Nomsy if it’s 2*. Same thing with assigning tank items on the frontline.

Here’s a board variation if you have Hwei and no Shapeshifters: just play 4 Vanguards. You’ll have a solid Stage 3 which will allow you to advance easily through levels.

At 3-2 if you have several pairs, you can roll a bit to save your streak.

You don’t want to stay at level 7 for very long: you want to get level 8 as soon as possible. You want a board that wins Stage 4 so you can quickly level to 9.

This board is much stronger with a +1 Frost which will be discussed later.

Once you have Nasus 2* and Varus 2* you can level to find Diana. She’s the one who makes this board extremely powerful.

Here’s the board with a Frost emblem. If you get one late you can put LW or IE on Olaf and the remaining items on Varus. They’re not optimum Olaf items but it’s better than putting them on Twitch.

Items:

• Nasus : Typical tank items including Redemption
• Varus : LW, IE, GS, Shojin or Red Buff
• Olaf : EoN, BT, Sterak, GS
• Diana : Magic Tank items: Crownguard, BT, Adaptive, Ionic, even class tank items

Augments:

• +1 Frost which improves your board
• Frosty Frontline which synergies with the Frost trait
• Epoch for econ & facilitates making strongest board
• You Have My Sword because you need a lot of Swords and AD is good for this comp

Advice:

• It’s a comp you play from ahead; you snowball with a lot of econ and HP as the board lacks explosiveness before finding Diana
• Always put Varus & Olaf on the same side to quickly activate Olaf’s Hunter trait and generate Frost soldiers
