Tocker’s Trials!! PVE mode coming to TFT in 14.17!!
PVE is something we’ve talked about for a long time in TFT, and this is one of the REDACTEDs I got to help with and am excited for everyone to try out. There’s so much potential in the PVE space for TFT, so this feels like us moving forward as a game even more!
There’s some cool stuff to look for here. It’s a great way to introduce people to the game who don’t want the stress of PVP so be sure to share it with them. It’s also got a score system for people who want to optimize the perfect run (I’ll post my high score later for you to try to beat). And for the insane, we’ve got Chaos mode which will be the ultimate challenge. Hope you all enjoy it!
It will be on PBE later, but for now we’re keeping Chaos mode hidden. Want to keep a little bit of the surprise for the full launch. If you try it on PBE, let us know what ya think or if you run into any issues. I’m hoping this is the start of some awesome stuff!
Have fun, and take it easy ๐

While weโve just barely introduced the world to the Charms of Magic nโ Mayhem, our team has been brewing up one more surprise that weโre excited to share. Weโre launching a new, highly-experimental PvE game mode starting in patch 14.17 on August 27, 2024โTockerโs Trials!

Over our last 12(!) sets, weโve tried a lot of new things with PvE rounds: from the humble Minions (or Scuttle Crabs!) at the start of each game, to some of the bolder experiments like the Threats of Monsters Attack!, and the many serious design discussions about whether or not Crab Rave should actually be as terrifying as it is. With our teams working across multiple sets well into the future, we had some time to brainstorm around entirely new ideas. The team quickly landed on PvE, and we got to work imagining & prototyping what TFT could be with only these PvE rounds, and we werenโt sure if it was something weโd even end up shipping. When the dust settled, though, we ended up with something we think is pretty dang fun, and weโre excited to share it with TFT players around the world!โฆ for a short time, at least.

When Tockerโs Trials launches in patch 14.17, hereโs what you can expect:
- Magic nโ Mayhem at the Core – Youโll have access to the current setโs champion and Augment roster, and youโll earn gold & level up similarly to how you would in a normal game, except Charms wonโt be making an appearance here.
- 30 Rounds, 6 Bosses, 3 Lives – Things start out simple, but you’ll need to put your skills to the test against boards youโd never encounter anywhere else in TFT. Your HP is also replaced with a life counter; lose 3 times, and youโre out!
- Solo Queue & No Timers – Itโs just you vs. the world, take all the time you need to plan out your strategy against your current foe, and choose when to start the next round when youโre good & ready.
- Rack Up a High Score & Share Your Results! – As you proceed through each round, youโll earn points based on your performance! Show off and challenge yourself & your friends to hit the highest score possible.
- Chaos Mode – Once youโve conquered normal mode, take on new twists in Chaos Mode. Thereโs a reason itโs called that, but weโll leave that for you to discover on your own.

Weโre so excited to share this mode, but itโs also something brand new for TFT, and again itโs quite experimental. Expect some bugs, rough edges, and less-than-perfect balance along the wayโweโre just stoked to share this fun experiment with you as soon as possible! Be sure to jump in when it launches in patch 14.17 on August 27, 2024, and hit your top score before Tockerโs Trials rotates out with patch 14.19 on September 24, 2024!
