Good morning everyone! Happy Patch 14.9 launch day! It’s obviously still waaaaay too early to really analyze everything, but we can get an early indication pretty quick. Here’s what I’m seeing so far.

Artifacts and Support items generally landed where they needed to! With the exception of one (Talisman), they look low but that’s expected since people still need to learn them. They’ve opened up some new lines, but didn’t break the game. Mission successful there, which is a big relief. Should be easy to lightly tune from here.

Champ/Trait meta is generally quite similar. The things that were S tier are still S tier, so no major balance thrashing. A few new lines got opened up (Riven, Alune), but still more we can do here. There’s also a pretty bad issue with Ghostly so avoid playing it where you can.

3* 4 Costs it’s still too early to tell. It’s a good sign that the meta didn’t shift drastically from the system changes, so my hopes are high that we at least put a dent in it, but won’t know how that landed for a couple days. Goal was to cut it by about half, so I’ll likely report next week how we ended up.

Obviously as you play over the next few days, let me know what you think. I know there’s still some clear hot button issues (glares at Lissandra), but if you see something else you aren’t happy with, let us know!

From here on out, as I’ve mentioned a couple times, expect patches to be smaller and focused on just balance adjustments. There likely won’t be any more system changes or reworks to traits or anything. It’s time to really focus the set into it’s final form and get it as close to balanced as possible for the back half of the set.

That’s it from me today. It’s the first of May, which is always my favorite month of the year. I have to be in office 14/22 of the work days for various reasons, so it’s going to be busier than normal for me. Have a good month everyone, and take it easy 🙂
