Seen a lot of incorrect advice on Sage Sylas on twitter here. In the last Tournament it averaged a 5.x with a large sample so it’s being played wrong as well.
MAIN POINTS
- Always frontline Sylas
- Hwei 1>Morgana 2
- Rakan and Wukong are Always better than Aatrox
Why not backline Sylas: He wants AP?
Because in this comp despite the name Sylas is your tank.
One of the best fight patterns you can get is: Sylas tanks for first few seconds-> Galio Taunts off him->Sylas heals back up and tanks more.
Why Hwei 1 over Morgana 2? The comp is called Sage Sylas.
This is for 2 reasons
- The heal is super valuable, it usually heals more than Sage omnivamp
- The damage is consistent, he will always hit largest clump and Morgana can whiff badly.
Why not 4 Bruiser? We’re itemizing Galio Sylas.
You can play aatrox for a bit but as soon as you hit wukong or rakan you instantly drop. We’re already playing Soraka so both 3 altruist and Heavenly Sage are better than 4 Bruiser.
That being said even if you follow this advice I still don’t think the comp is S tier, it has a horrible Ashe matchup, but it’s better than a 5.x average.
