Yesterday was my In office day, where I go into the Riot campus once a week. I usually use these days and jam all my 1 on 1’s into it, so it’s like a marathon of meeting and talking to people and catching up on various challenges with everything…

And honestly, I REALLY like these days. Getting that face to face time with the team and people able to talk directly about spontaneous challenges. A designer walked up to me and said “Hey can we talk about REDACTED?” and we just grabbed a room and jammed on it for 30 minutes, which feels great. And at the end of the day, I’ll usually do a team thing like Grab nachos with Kent and Alex, or yesterday was Peter Cube night so I got to play some Magic.

BUT…I also get close to no personal work done on these days. If I need to work on something for the live game, or a future set or project and prep a document or something, that’s just NOT happening on these days. For that kind of work, I love the isolation that working from my home office provides. I can just wake up at 6am, jam some tunes, and power through a document.

TLDR – I’m loving the hybrid model still that Riot provides. I can go in person when I need to and when it’s useful. In May I have to go in like 15/25 days, but its fine because we’ll be working on REDACTED which will be fun. But when I need to do some power work and focus, I can do it from home. Good stuff.
