Competitive 14.8b Meta compiled by Clement Chu

APAC day 1 is done! As there were 30 lobbies, he only logged in games 4 and 5 after the bottom 25% of the field was cut. Here are the best comps in the field, and some short explainers on what some of the comps are.

It’s a healthy, high-cost meta.

Big “3”

Heavenly Kayn/Lee, Trickshot Flex and Porcelain Ashe were the dominant comps, while the traditional Mythic Invoker slot was overtaken by the Porcelain version. Not many players knew this line, and Clement anticipates it to grow in popularity. Here are the most common lines:

Newcomer: Ashe Invoker

This was clearly underplayed on day 1, and many players didn’t seem aware it was here. The sheer amount of quality 4 costs this strong on 8. Porcelain, Warden +1’s can further elevate the comp. 5 Mythic Invoker much weaker in the stats to compete.

The Rerolls

Gnar is the only consistent one. Fairies (aka Zoe/Janna reroll) have trouble finding their 3*, and Ghostly is mainly played with Ashe carry instead of Senna. Arcanist still good, but requires an emblem… and is suspiciously like a Porcelain comp. Duelists is sadge.

Free “LP” Tier

These are the augments you take on 2-1 and feel pretty sure you’re getting LP. Build Different not surprisingly at a 4.0. Drop Blossom is top 2 with Heavenly +1 or else still strong with the 7 Mythic Variant.

Closing

Love the meta so far and it’s variability! Kai’Sa still good, Huanmie has finally dropped his “I will not play snipers” stream tag. If you want to catch the games, highly recommend day2 POVs
