Why Duelist?

• Multiple carries
• Less vulnerable to backline access (Yone, Kog’Maw)
• Solid baseline power and caps extremely high with Duelist +1
• Tristana/Qiyana buffed, Ghostly nerfed (biggest Volibear counter)

When to play?

• Duelist +1 (Emblem > Wandering Trainers)
• Volibear/Tristana drops from orb
• There are other 3-cost re-rollers in the lobby (there’s always a Yone player)
• Strong support items (Locket > Aegis > 1 Banshee == 1 Cleaver)

When do I roll?

Generally, you should be slow rolling on 7 for Volibear 3 and Tristana 3. If you’re hard win streaking early/have +1, it is fine to roll until stable on 7 and then slow roll on 8 for better Irelia odds (8 Duelist is a huge spike). Shop Odds Table from MetaTFT.

Who do I itemize?

• Tristana: LW + GBlade > HoJ + Runaan > GS/IE/DB/GBreaker
• Volibear: 2x Titan’s + QSS >> Adaptive/Crown
• Irelia: Red + Runnan’s + Guardbreaker/IE/DB >> Morello
• Lee Sin: Leftover bruiser Items

What are good augments to take for this comp?

• S and A augments are always pickable
• B and below are more situational and/or less reliable
• Generally speaking: Duelist +1 > Teamwide buffs/Support Items > Components = Reroll (Except Two for One because it’s very strong at the moment)

What do I play on Stage 2?

Generally, front line units will be holding Volibear items while backline will hold Tristana items.

What are my mid-game boards?

Typically, it will be 4 Duelist with Umbral/Heavenly splash until you can get access to Lee Sin/Duelist +1.

What do I play on 8?

Without Duelist Emblem, it is best to try and wait until Level 9 to replace Yasuo/Darius with Irelia. With an Emblem, you can stay on 8 and pray for Irelia and roll for the rest of your upgrades. Otherwise, you can send it to 9 for better Irelia odds and spike with 8 Duelist

How do I increase my board cap?

Splashing any teamwide buffs for your Duelists will be your best bet. Wukong for Sage + Heavenly, Rakan for Dragonlord will be your go-tos. Otherwise, any legendaries like Lissandra/Udyr/Sett can be slotted in to deal with pesky frontliners.

Best Duelist emblem holder?

Yone will be your best option since you can roll for him 3 star, or just to grief other Yone players. Diana and Soraka are close seconds but falls off late and should be transferred to Legendaries like Lissandra/Wukong/Rakan

Easy Exalted combinations?

Keep an eye for Exalted combinations with a Duelist, Heavenly, Dragonlord, and relevant Legendary units.

I’m contested, what now?

With Duelist emblem, you can sit on Tristana 2 and Volibear 2 to try and rush 9 to slot in Irelia for 8 Duelist. You can absolutely transfer Tristana items to Irelia. Without emblems/Extended Duel, try these comps!

Closing Notes

While the units in this comp are fixed, the itemization of them are pretty flexible compared to other reroll comps. Knowing this, it is recommended to slam items and play strongest board to preserve HP. Lastly, good luck on your climb!
