Good morning and Happy Monday everyone!
If you missed the announcement video last week about next set and all the Arcane goodness coming to Riot games, make sure you check it out. Lots of fun stuff. I did want to talk a bit about Tocker’s Trials to set some expectations on what the mode will be.
The first Tocker’s Trials for Magic & Mayhem was shockingly made by a very small amount of people on the team in a very short amount of time as a proof of concept of what TFT PVE could be like. Overall, it was even more successful than we thought it would be despite being specifically designed to NOT be that replayable. It also allowed a bunch of people a comfortable space to play the game in, which was really awesome.
For the next set, Tocker’s Trials is going to be used as an onboarding space for the set. The difficulty will be VERY easy, and there won’t be a chaos mode. It will be there if you want some time to read all the tooltips, or get used to things, or if you’re new, just learn how TFT works. We think this is going to be awesome for folks who maybe watch the show, and then want to dive into the game.
Now I know some of you die hard folks (including you person who played Tocker’s Trials more than 700 times) may find this news disappointing. And we get that. But don’t worry! We also saw your hunger and desire for something in the space of PVE. As I mentioned, Tocker’s was a proof of concept, and well, consider that concept proven!
So yeah, just wanted to make sure we’re all on the same page. We’re getting so close to all the big exciting news about the next set, and I haven’t been this excited to show you stuff in a LONG time. Really proud of everyone involved. Until then, time to get to work! Have a great week, and take it easy 🙂
